Latvia‘s highest point is Gaizina
Kalns (knowledge mountain), between Madona and Ergli.

The view should be beautiful, but you cannot check it because the tower is in a
terrible state, and looks like it will collapse every second.

 

 

Gaizina Kalns is 312 m high, and this came as
a suprise to me, I expected it to be a lot higher.

The view from the mountain is blocked by the trees, only one view is possible,
along the skislope, and that view is already
beautiful.

The tower itself is not that old (in fact, the tower was never finished), but
gives clues to the quality of building just before the Soviet
Union collapsed.

In Latvia,
the older the house, the better the quality . . .
